April Puciata completed a 500 hour certification under the guidance of Alan
Finger from Be Yoga (now Ishta Yoga). She completed prenatal certification
with Janice Clarfield. April  continues to study with Alan Finger and has also
studied many other teachers such as Shiva Rea, Sean Corn and Rolf Gates.

During her challenging vinyasa flow yoga class, April encourages students
to use the breath and experiment with their own practice. She guides
students through alignment while fusing tantric, ayurvedic, and buddhist
philosophies in class. While she demands focus, she also insists on laughter.

April teaches at Ishta Yoga, Yoga Works, New York Yoga, and New York
Sports Clubs,as well as privately throughout NYC. She often teaches
workshops on dedicating your practice and  donates the proceeds to causes
like Habitat for Humanity and the Red Cross. She is working on another
benefit class for the fall of 2008. In December 2005, April was featured on
CBS News on a health segment about yoga and back pain.

Before studying and teaching yoga full time, April worked in publishing for 6
years. She has an MFA in Creative Writing from the New School and has
been published in literary journals such as
Salamander, The New Orleans
Review
, and Mangrove. April believes she is always a student and is grateful
to all her teachers, past and present, for their encouragement in her journey.
